Philanthropy Vision and integrity in all that we do

The Beck family, or the family’s corporate entity, has always played a significant philanthropic role in Melbourne’s community. There has traditionally been a focus on improving the health related outcomes of the community, including significant support for the Alfred Hospital and the $1 billion redevelopment of Melbourne’s world-class Royal Children’s Hospital.

In many instances, cold hard cash is not always the right answer, so members of the Beck family have often contributed their time and property-related expertise to achieve significant community outcomes, such as reconstruction of Marysville after the Black Saturday bushfires in Victoria, and leading the team in the development and construction of the new Royal Children’s Hospital.

The list of philanthropic causes supported over a 40 year period is too long and diverse to detail, but range from donations to the Salvation Army to a 10-year commitment to the Prime Minister’s Olympic Dinner, and the establishment of a charitable foundation to deliver a lasting legacy for future generations.
